Frequently Asked Questions

How do I meet with my therapist?

All sessions take place virtually through Zoom, a secure and HIPAA-compliant video platform. Before your first session, you’ll receive a direct link via email that you’ll use for all your weekly sessions. Just click the same link at your scheduled time each week, and you’ll be brought straight into your session—making it easy to connect from wherever you are.

What will my first session look like?

Your first session will be an intake session — which is just a fancy way of saying I’ll be asking you lots of questions to get to know you, your story, and what brought you to therapy. It’s all about creating a space where you feel seen, supported, and comfortable. You don’t need to prepare anything — just come open and curious, and I’ll guide you through the rest!

How long are sessions and how often do we meet?

Sessions are 45 minutes long to start. If we determine that more time would be beneficial, we can discuss shifting to 60 minute sessions. Clients meet with me weekly, as this allows for consistency and steady progress. In some cases, we may decide together to move to biweekly sessions — this is something we assess on an individual basis.

Do you take insurance and how can I pay for sessions?

Yes, I do take insurance! Feel free to email me, and I can check to see if I’m in-network with your plan. If I’m out-of-network, I can also provide a superbill upon request so you can submit it to your insurance for possible reimbursement. Once we establish your fee and sessions begin, payments can be made easily through autopay — so you won’t have to think about it each week.

What is your cancellation and reschedule policy?

You’re welcome to cancel or reschedule your session at no charge as long as it’s at least 24 hours in advance. Cancellations or reschedules made within 24 hours of your appointment time will incur a $75 fee. I encourage clients to avoid frequent cancellations or reschedules whenever possible — consistent weekly sessions tend to lead to the best outcomes in therapy, and that’s what I want for you! That said, I understand that things happens. On a case-by-case basis, I may waive the fee for emergencies or unavoidable situations (excluding work-related conflicts). Just reach out, and we’ll talk it through.
